North Star doors have been designed and built to
withstand extreme weather conditions – not to mention looking attractive
and saving energy while doing it. Performance testing by impartial, independent
agencies has shown our products meet and exceed industry-accepted standards
of excellence. North Star patio doors are one of the first on the market
to receive CSA certification.
All North Star patio doors feature:
AAMA-certified 5 5/8" multi-chambered
insulating vinyl profiles
provide maximum
energy-efficiency.

Strong interlocking meeting rails for air tightness.

Full-perimeter double Ultrafab® weather-strip and bubble
weather-strip
provide an effective seal between the door jamb
and the operating
panels. CSA-A440 rates the performance
of doors for airtightness, watertightness, wind resistance, condensation
resistance, resistance to forced entry, ease of operation and energy rating.
When comparing performance, a higher number represents better performance.
For example, A3 is better than A1 for air tightness. Energy rating measures
the effect a door will have on annual heating costs – the higher the ER number the more energy efficient. A rating of +31 is substantially
better than +16.
